Lavender

Lavender is sitting patiently waiting to travel to Dorset next month for The Larmer Tree Vintage Brocante, where she will be for sale.
She is dressed in some rare fragments of antique French toile de jouy which I have roughly patched together for her skirt.
Beneath this she wears a muslin petticoat and a pair of vintage hand embroidered linen bloomers.

Her pure wool lavender coloured jacket is decorated with mismatched buttons and a vintage china floral brooch.

Thank you for stopping-by.

Antique Fabric Sample Book

I have been wanting to create this for so long...And once I'd started, I realised how long it was going to take to finish! Its been several days work, but finally its done...
Using a beautiful Victorian photograph album as the base, I have been adding samples of my antique French Scheurer fabrics.
About 7 years ago, I was lucky enough to be able to buy a large quantity of beautiful unused examples of the fabrics. Since then, I have always been a little wary of cutting into them to use in my crafts, but I thought by creating this mini archive, at least a small record of them with always exist.
Each fabric has been glued onto card and then slid into the album.
The fabrics date from 1884 to 1905 and are truly exquisite.

The album with its decorated pages is pretty too!

I shall be offering it for sale at The Vintage Brocante, but if it doesn't sell, I shall be happy to retain this for myself!

Nona

Introducing Nona in her French finery.
I've dressed her in a delicious collection of antique textiles,
including this rare toile for her skirt, which has had a previous life...
It had a scalloped edge, tattered from being salvaged many years ago...which I have embraced and used as the hemline.
Beneath this she has a check muslin petticoat and bloomers with hand embroidered broderie anglaise at the knees.
She is another piece created for the Dorset Brocante next month.
I am also in the process of relaunching my on-line shop with a new look and will add some of my handmade dolls as time allows.
Other pieces that I have been working on are lots of handmade greetings cards created from antique ephemera...

Special one-off gift ideas in hand decorated boxes...
And embellished vintage treasures found along the way...
Thank you for visiting x

Agatha

My latest OOAK rag doll to be completed is Agatha.
She is dressed in a rare antique French check linen...
I love the old hand darning stitches, which I have chosen to feature at the front of her skirt, to give an authentic antique feel to the piece. A fabulous vintage lace trims the hem.
She has a crisp cotton petticoat, linen bloomers and striped ticking leggings.
She has a floral linen bodice and a buff linen jacket with a mix of buttons.
Ready for the Dorset Brocante next month.
